My clinic turned 1 this week!

Yin yang cupcake iced solo webCan you believe it? My little Broadbeach clinic, Sarah George Acupuncture & Natural Health, has celebrated her first birthday this week.

A birthday is not complete without cake – so here’s one of my recipes: Yin Yang cupcakes (gluten free)

It’s been a lovely year in the clinic, growing from helping just a few patients to now seeing a lovely group of people in need of holistic acupuncture and natural health care treatment for a range of women’s health, pregnancy and fertility conditions, chronic pain and illness and neurological disorders. Thank you to my patients and anyone who has referred someone to me.

After working in busy, multi-room clinics for most of my career it’s nice to slow things down and provide other Chinese Medicine therapies as needed, like tuina (Chinese massage), gua sha (scraping – not as scary as it sounds), moxa and cupping (there are so many different ways of having cupping done).

Next week I’ll be announcing an exciting new therapy in the clinic – stay tuned!

So thank you for being a part of my clinic’s first year whether you’ve been a patient or just followed along on this blog, facebook, twitter or instagram with the idea of one day coming in for a treatment.

Here’s to another great year! See you in the clinic. Call 07 5526 8632 to make an appointment.

My last day at the West End clinic is Friday 1st May

The clinic!
Acupuncture Emporium & Natural Therapies Centre

As some of you know I have recently accepted the Chinese Medicine Senior Lecturer position at Endeavour College of Natural Health’s Gold Coast campus. This position keeps me busy four days of the week and I’ve been loving giving treatment to my patients each Friday at the lovely little West End clinic, Acupuncture Emporium and Natural Therapies Centre.

I have decided to take my own advice and reduce stress in my life while at the same time boosting my exercise. As a result, I have made the tough decision to relocate to the Gold Coast where I can cycle to the campus replacing a two hour drive each day which cuts into valuable exercise, healthy meal preparation and general fun time.

Sadly, this means I won’t be able to continue seeing my patients at West End. Some of you I have been treating since when I first graduated. I am so honoured that you have chosen me as your practitioner and also for the many friends and family that you have referred to me. I love my work as your acupuncturist and massage therapist.

I will continue to practice acupuncture and massage at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast on Fridays. More details to come shortly for those of you who frequent the Gold Coast or know a local who needs a good treatment.

The team at Acupuncture Emporium and Natural Therapies Centre led by Nicola Macdonald will look after you well. However, if you require a referral to another clinic please let me know and I will find a practitioner to suit you.

So we come to the important part, dates. My last day at Acupuncture Emporium and Natural Therapies Centre is Friday 1st May. That’s only three Fridays away!

You can make an appointment with me to discuss your health care and benefit from an acupuncture or massage treatment by calling 07 3844 2217.

I wish you all the best with your health care journey and maybe I’ll see you in the clinic soon.

Changes at the clinic

For five years and about eight months I have happily turned up to the HealthWise Clinic most days of the working week to treat my wonderful patients. This has been an absolute delight.

But change is inevitable. Many of you know that I also lecture in acupuncture at the Endeavour College of Natural Health. Well, I’ve been offered a permanent lecturing position at the college and have decided to embrace the challenge. I’ve really enjoyed my lecturing time and it keeps my acupuncture skills ‘sharp’. This in turn benefits you, my patients. I also love inspiring new acupuncture students in the medicine that I see helping my patients so well in the clinic.

So, the news is that in order to start my new permanent lecturing role I will be leaving Healthwise Clinic. This was a hard decision to make. My last day at the clinic is Wednesday 6th November. And I’ll be available on my usual days (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) until then. Call HealthWise  on 07 3839 1077 to book an appointment or to discuss your future care.

And for those who are wondering, I won’t be giving up clinical practice altogether. I will have availability for some acupuncture and massage patients at a new clinic. More on that next week so stay tuned.

I’m incredibly grateful to David, Zam and our wonderful HealthWise team over the years (Jenny, Carmen, Kathleen, Jenine, Judy, Jodie and Julia) for their kindness and support. David and Zam will still be available to provide acupuncture at HealthWise Clinic.

I am honoured to those of you who have chosen me to provide your healthcare. I’ve enjoyed helping you on your journey. You are always welcome to contact me.

Thank you.
